swimming recount
On the first day of swimming at the Dean Greenwood swimming pool I was so excited because
my friends were there with me.

Once it was 10:10AM we went to the cloak bay, got our things and had a little snack. Once
everyone had finished eating, we lined up waiting for Miss Paton to come and lead the way
to the bus. Then Miss Paton came and took us down to the gate. We saw the bus. We walked
to the bus. Miss Paton counted us as we walked onto the bus. Once she counted us, we chose
our seats and waited until the driver turned the keys in the ignition. Once the keys were turned
the bus started to move. I was so excited because I wanted to go under the boat during one of
our swimming lessons like we did last year. Swimming under the boat was one of my favourite
lessons because we went into the air bubble and jumped off the boat.

Once Room Six finished swimming they hopped out. Then it was my class’s turn. We started to
walk. Then my teacher Aria said to sit on the wall. Aria said all of our names but since I wasn’t
there on the first day she didn’t know my name.
I said “My name is Trelia''. Then she said my name and replied ‘‘Oh I remember you from last
year”. Then we hopped in and everyone was in one big group.

They were first picking groups. I was so lucky and got chosen to be the first group to go onto
the boat. Once we were chosen I went under and over the boat.
It was so exciting. Then we swam back and did some swimming activities until all of the groups
were finished on the boat. I got better at floating on my back and doing back stroke.

Once all the groups were finished me and some of my girl classmates went and got changed. I
was so sad because now we won’t be going back to the swimming pool until next year.
